Eurostat — Statistical Office of the European Union
The statistical office of the European Union. Eurostat produces, maintains and publishes NACE — the classification every EU member state uses to describe economic activity.
Eurostat is the Directorate-General of the European Commission responsible for European statistics. It coordinates the European Statistical System together with the national statistical institutes (NSIs) of every member state.
Eurostat owns NACE — the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community — and the closely related CPA (products) and PRODCOM (industrial production) classifications. Each national activity classification (CAE, NAF, WZ, SBI…) is aligned back to NACE at the 4-digit class.
NACEBridge treats Eurostat as the authoritative source of the NACE backbone and of every localised label. National subclasses come from each NSI and are anchored to the same 4-digit Eurostat class.
