France's national activity classification, published by INSEE. Aligned with NACE at the 4-digit level with a 5-character format.
NAF — Nomenclature d'activités française — is assigned by INSEE to every establishment in France as part of SIRENE registration. Codes are 5 characters (4 digits + 1 letter) such as `6201Z`.
The current NAF rév. 2 (2008) is aligned with NACE Rev. 2. France will publish NAF rév. 2.1 aligned with NACE Rev. 2.1 on the same schedule as Eurostat.
The NAF code determines the applicable convention collective (labour agreement), sector statistics, and many administrative procedures. NACEBridge converts NAF codes to CAE, WZ, ATECO or any other EU national code anchored on the same NACE class.
