Manufacture of refined petroleum products and fossil fuel products
This class includes the manufacture of liquid or gaseous fuels or other products from crude petroleum, bituminous minerals or their fractionation products. Petroleum refining involves one or more of the following activities: fractionation; straight distillation of crude oil; cracking. This class includes: - production of motor fuel: gasoline, kerosene, etc. - production of fuel: light, medium and heavy fuel oil, refinery gases (e.g. ethane, propane, butane) - manufacture of oil-based lubricating oils or greases, including from waste oil - manufacture of products for the petrochemical industry and for the manufacture of road coverings - manufacture of various refined petroleum products, white spirit, Vaseline, paraffin wax, petroleum jelly, etc. - manufacture of petroleum briquettes - blending of biofuels, i.e. blending of alcohols with petroleum (e.g. gasohol) - manufacture of products from petroleum waste materials (e.g. waste lubricating petroleum oils) This class also includes: - manufacture of peat briquettes - manufacture of hard coal and lignite fuel briquettes This class excludes: - manufacture of solid fuels from biomass, see 16.26 - manufacture of liquid biofuels, see 20.51

Compreende a atividade de transformação do petróleo bruto, de minerais betuminosos ou dos seus produtos de fracionamento, em: combustíveis líquidos ou gasosos ou de outros produtos. A refinação de petróleo envolve uma ou mais das seguintes atividades: fracionamento; destilação direta de petróleo bruto; e cracking; fabrico de carburantes (gasolina, querosene, etc.), combustíveis (fuelóleo leve, médio e pesado), gases de refinaria (ex. etano, propano, butano); óleos e massas lubrificantes, produtos para a indústria petroquímica (ex: naftas); produtos para revestimento de estradas (betumes de petróleo); coque de petróleo e outros produtos petrolíferos refinados (vaselina, White spirit, parafina, etc.).

Mõlemad on ELi NACE Rev 2.1 riiklikud rakendused, seega saab iga 5-kohalise alaklassi ühes süsteemis jälgida tagasi jagatud 4-kohalise ELi klassini — ja sealt edasi teise riigi alaklassidesse.
