Compreende a radiodifusão de sinais áudio, através de estúdios e instalações de radiodifusão para a transmissão de programas de rádio/áudio ao público em geral, associados ou subscritores; serviços de streaming (fluxo contínuo) e descarregamento de áudio a pedido por distribuidores terceiros com direitos de distribuição; difusão de podcast em direto. Os programas difundidos têm vários fins (culturais, recreativos, educativos, promocionais, formativos, informativos, etc.). Inclui as atividades: das redes de rádio, ou seja, a montagem e a transmissão da programação sonora às empresas associadas ou aos assinantes através de emissões sem fio, por cabo ou satélite, de radiodifusão sonora através da Internet (estações de rádio Internet) e a difusão de programas de rádio e filmagens simultâneas para difusão de vídeo.
