Compreende as atividades de: abate de árvores e operações complementares (ex: cortes de ramos em troncos abatidos, toragem, descasque, extração - rechega e transporte próprio no interior da mata - e carregamento); produção de lenha e produção não industrial de carvão vegetal; recolha de resíduos da exploração florestal, por exemplo, mato, cepos, aparas de madeira proveniente da exploração florestal, outros resíduos florestais para fins energéticos.

CAE Rev 4 is de activiteitenclassificatie die in Portugal wordt gebruikt. NACE Rev 2.1 is het equivalente systeem in Malta. Beide zijn nationale implementaties van EU NACE Rev 2.1, waardoor elke 5-cijferige subklasse in één systeem teruggevoerd kan worden naar een gedeelde 4-cijferige EU-klasse — en van daaruit naar de subklassen van het andere land.
