Considera-se como pousada, o estabelecimento hoteleiro instalado em imóvel classificado, como de interesse nacional, de interesse público ou de interesse municipal ou em edifícios que, pela sua antiguidade, valor arquitetónico e histórico, sejam representativos de uma determinada época, fornecendo aos seus clientes serviços de alojamento e alimentação.
