Compreende as atividades de: abate de árvores e operações complementares (ex: cortes de ramos em troncos abatidos, toragem, descasque, extração - rechega e transporte próprio no interior da mata - e carregamento); produção de lenha e produção não industrial de carvão vegetal; recolha de resíduos da exploração florestal, por exemplo, mato, cepos, aparas de madeira proveniente da exploração florestal, outros resíduos florestais para fins energéticos.
